Veronica Jones Henley

Veronica Jones Henley transitioned on September 17, 2023 in Washington, D.C. She was a descendant of the Humphrey family of Lumberton and Robeson County and the niece of the late Charity Humphrey Thompson of Lumberton, North Carolina and Dr. James B. Humphrey of Charlotte, North Carolina. Veronica was a graduate of N.C. Central University in Durham, North Carolina and an educator in the District of Columbia Public School System. Funeral services will be held Saturday October 7, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Parish. Interment will be at Rock Creek Cemetery in Washington, D.C. She is survived by one son Todd Henley, three sisters Dr. Judith Jones Webb, Antoinette Jones Gorham, Barbara Jones Jenkins, two brothers, Parker D.
