Patsy Lee McCallum

Patsy Lee McCallum, age 70, was born October 1, 1952, to the late Eva Mae Lee Jacobs at Southeastern General Hospital in Lumberton, N.C. She transitioned to her heavenly home November 25, 2022, at Moses Cones Hospital in Greensboro, NC after a short illness. Patsy moved to Chicago, IL where she lived and served as an active church member for several years. While in Chicago, IL, Patsy completed an advanced degree in Business Administration and worked as a federal government employee.

Patsy attended Hilly Branch Elementary School and Rowland High School where she made a host of friends. This was the beginning of her very active involvement in cheerleading. She was a cheerleader all through her high school years until her graduation in May 1970. Patsy aspired to attend a historically black college (NCCU) in Durham, NC from 1970 - 1974. She graduated with honors and received her B.S. in Business in May1974.

After graduating from NCCU, Patsy worked at Liggett and Myers in Durham, NC until  moving to Richton Park, Illinois after her wedding to Leon McCallum, Jr. on August 10, 1975. While in Illinois, Patsy served as an active church member for several years. She also completed at Allis Chalmers and worked as a federal government employee until moving back to North Carolina.

She is preceded in death by her dear mother, Eva Mae Lee Jacobs. Patsy leaves to cherish her memory and is survived by brothers, Elder Allen (Esther)  Lee, Bishop Harry Lee, Sr., James J. Jacobs and John A. Jacobs. Sisters, Angelia G. Jacobs, and Eva (Julius) M. Meekins. Also, left to cherish her memory are her nephews, nieces, cousins, high school classmates, and longtime friends.

A memorial is planned for 2 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Faith Chapel Bible Church of God at 11692 U.S. Highway 301 South, Rowland, NC, 28383.
