Michelle McKoy Townsend

Michelle McKoy Townsend, affectionately known as Bookie, was born on September 24, 1974 in Robeson County, North Carolina. She is the daughter of Gloria Thompson and Levi Powell. She left this life on July 31, 2022 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina.
She graduated from Lumberton Sr. High School and was well known in her community. From her affectionate attitude, her love for helping others, doing hair or just enjoying company, you can expect a great time in her presence. Michelle did not meet a stranger and enjoyed being around her friends and family.
She leaves to cherish her parents Gloria Thompson and Levi Powell (Margie). 2 sisters Mary Baker of Robeson County and Kaniya Scott of Robeson County and 1 brother Paul McCollum of Robeson County. She has 4 beautiful children Khadijah McKoy, Tatiyana Mayes, Kanijah Oliver and Timothy McLaurin Jr. She also has 5 grandchildren Olivia McKoy, Ayanna McKoy, Quincy McKoy, Khloe Sutton and Sakari Hooks. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other loving relatives and friends. 

Visitation and services will be 6p.m. Thursday August 4, 2022 at McMillan Funeral Home in Lumberton, North Carolina.
