Obituary

Kathleen Lynn Goodman was born on July 5, 1969 to Lillian Stewart and Willie Junior Lesane in Red Springs, North Carolina. She was the third of their three children. After Kathleen graduated West Robeson High School in 1987, she began working as a motor vehicle operator and adjunct school counselor in Lumberton North Carolina. In 1995 she met her husband soon after they moved to Hubert, NC due to his military service. During this time Kathy (Lynn) served as a Key Volunteer helping other military families navigate the rigors of being in the military especially when their spouses are forward deployed to war zones, Kathy’s compassion and easy going spirit helped others through their most difficult time. While living in Japan Kathy continued working as a motor operator driving huge tour buses along the streets and highways in a foreign country (oh not to mention while doing things in reverse (steering wheel on the right side of the vehicle and driving on the left side of the road). After their time in Japan Kathy’s adventures took her and the family to Hawaii, while there started her own business as a daycare owner and had the pleasure of taking care of some amazing children. Years later Kathy and the gang moved back to the states settling in Havelock and Jacksonville, NC for a time and again starting another business venture, by opening her own catering business out of her home it was a huge success. Some time later the family moved to Virginia were they retired from the military. Kathy continued working pursuing a career in the health care field as a Home Health Aide. She assisted her clients and embraced everyone she met with love, care, and with a beautiful smile that would light up the room. Kathy enjoying spending time with family and friends, date nights with her husband, driving fast cars (wanting to secretly become a race car driver (don’t tell mom). Kathleen Goodman is preceded in death by her father Willie Junior Lesane and her brother John David Lesane. She also leaves behind her loving husband (Dontae Goodman) her loving mother (Lillian Lesane), her loving sister (Willie Mae Mitchell), her children (Salena and LaDara), her grandchildren (Tahtiana and Zephaniah), and a host of people who love her and will miss her dearly.
