Eloise McMillan

Eloise McMillan passed away peacefully in her home at the age 90 on Saturday April 1, 2023. Ms. Eloise McMillan, the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Louise McMillan, was born June 20,1932 in Robeson County, North Carolina. She attended and graduated from the St Paul Colored School in St. Pauls, North Carolina. She attended Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church until she moved to Newark, New Jersey in 1954. Eloise joined Promised Land Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. E.L. Chamblee, where she served faithfully. She was employed at the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center for many years and was later employed by Temco, Inc. and retired in 1978. In 1978, Eloise decided to move back to her roots in St. Pauls, North Carolina. She reunited with her home Church, Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church and served faithfully until her health failed. Eloise is predeceased by her daughter, Latasha Rochelle McMillan-Bain and 2 grandsons. Eloise leaves to cherish her memories, four daughters; Teresa Thomas and Gwen McMillan of Newark, N.J., Belinda (Tyrone) Jones of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Kim McMillan of St. Pauls, N.C., two sons; Ronald McMillan of Newark, N.J. and Anthony Wayne Bright of St. Pauls, N.C.; 20 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; her sister, Margie Marie (Lacy) Lewis of St. Pauls, N.C.                                                                                                                                                                                                   Visitation will be Sunday at McMillan Funeral Home 4p.m. - 6p.m. and funeral service will be Monday at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church 2p.m.
