Ella Verlene Nealy

Ella Verlene Nealy age 88 passed away peacefully on October 20, 2023 in Newport News, Virginia with her family by her side. Mrs. Nealy was born on September 26, 1935 in Lumberton, North Carolina to the late William "Bud" Henry Norris and Carrie Lee Buie-Norris who she has joined in eternal rest. She was a former resident of 61 Bucket Road in Lumberton, N.C. She confessed Christ and joined Mount Zion at an early age.

She was preceded in death by her husband Wonie Nealy and her son Wonie Nealy Jr.. She leaves to cherish her children Ronald Nealy (Gabrielle), Rhonda Nealy, Betty Annette Nealy-Carter, Sharon Nealy, Shirley Gail Ricks (Michael), Edward Ray Nealy (Saprina), and Frederick Dale Nealy. Ella also leaves behind a host of cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Ella was one of four children, and one sibling remains to cherish her memories: Ernestine Collins of Lanham, Maryland. She was preceded in death by two siblings: Windell Norris and Henry Norris.
