On August 1, 2022, Brenda Baker was called to her heavenly home to get her wings and is now resting in the arms of Jesus, fully healed, and restored. She was surrounded by her amazing husband at the time of her passing. Brenda was raised in a Christian home. Brenda is the youngest daughter of Herbert Douglas and Annie Mae Floyd was born in Raleigh, North Carolina on August 30,1948. Brenda was raised in Lumberton, North Carolina and was educated in the Hilly Branch School System. In 1966, she met the love of her life, Andrew Baker, and they wed in 1967, going on to have five Children, Tony Baker, Sherry (Mike) Phillips, Dionne Baker, Drew (Kara) Baker, and LaCher (Oliver) Wright. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and great grandmother. She was well-loved unconditionally. A gentle soul which touched the lives of many. She loved shopping for purses and shoes and her fierce sense of fashion was undeniable. Brenda was very competitive and enjoyed playing card games with her family and friends. She was known for her bold sense of humor. She was strong and actively loving presence in the lives of those she loved and instilled specific lessons in each person she touched. She enjoyed traveling, listening to music, and certainly loved the Lord. Brenda was preceded in death by her three brothers: Perry Floyd, Proctor Jevon Floyd, and Larry Floyd. She leaves to mourn, one Sister Annie Pearl Parker; ten Grandchildren, Jasmine Baker, Khari Baker, Dominic Baker, DeAndre Baker, Isaiah Conner, Ronnie Baker, Painter Baker, Walker Baker, Lance Lawary; Leonard Wright; two Great Grandchildren; Koda Brentley-Baker and Londyn Baker; Nieces; Carmen Jarmon, Raven Arnold and a host of other nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Greenville Baptist Church. Interment in Hilly Branch Church Cemetery at Moore's Landing in Lumberton, North Carolina.
